MDC successfully launched IPMaster® 1.7.3, the latest version if its state-of-the-art intellectual property software for managing patents and trademarks. IPMaster provides the ability to securely track IP due dates, manage IP-related conflicts, organize license agreements, and more.

The release of IPMaster 1.7.3 includes an updated IPForms™ module, a subscription service that allows users to populate patent data in various IP management forms with a click of a button. The IPForms tool, based on mail merge functions within Microsoft® Word, is integrated into IPMaster ensuring that form fields generate information directly from the database. Users can automatically transfer critical information into USPTO and PCT forms, without having to worry about data entry error or misrepresentations. The new version of IPForms features a variety of intelligent tools ensuring that data is validated and accurately transferred:

Auto-Fill
This feature allows data to automatically transfer from IPMaster based on selected preferences.

Data Selection Screen
To save valuable time, users can take advantage of data values that are already stored in IPMaster and use the data selection screen to fill out any missing information. The data selection screen provides pre-selected options preventing errors due to manual data entry.

Data Validation
IPForms incorporates a variety of safeguards to ensure that the form is completed accurately. The system contains built-in warnings that prevent input errors due to an invalid format or conflicting information.

Drop-Down Menus
Drop-down menus allow users to choose from a list of available values, which simplifies the completion process and ensures that only valid information is entered into the form.

In addition to the updated IPForms module, IPMaster 1.7.3 provides enhanced functionality through the improvement of a variety of features. Extra fields have been added to the expense upload making the report more user-friendly. Performance of drop-down menus has also been improved by decreasing their loading time allowing users to access information more quickly. Another major improvement is the software’s compatibility with SQL-server 2005 Enterprise edition, with support for both the Microsoft Windows and Sun® Solaris server platforms. The enhancements of IPMaster 1.7.3 and its IPForms module provide additional support enabling users to process IP data more effectively and efficiently.
